Update: Fuji X-pro 1

Full specs from photorumors.com. It is already sold out in pre-order, and the body only costs...1700$.

1700$...for a non full frame compact. I am skeptical. Can you in 2012 sell a non full frame body at 1700$ that is non full frame? What do you think?

If the lenses are amazing, the likes of a Nikon 50mm 1.2 AIS , Zeiss  G mount or Leica M, why not. But at this price, the body has to be FLAWLESS. Any less than perfect AF, viewfinder, sensor at this price, and it's a no go (if it focuses like the X100, no thanks).

I'll definitely get my hands on one and do a review, I am on the one hand very tempted because my dream digital camera would be exactly that with a full frame sensor and versatile mount, so this is as close as it gets. On the other hand, I have very nice Nikon prime lenses, why should I spend 2300$ in that system when a D7000 costs 900$ ? Apart from the compact factor... not worth it.

Nevertheless, Fuji is the only brand exploring that segment, and I love it. It keeps getting better, and I really can't wait to see what they will launch in the next 2 years. The first 24x36 premium compact?

    1. Right. If only Nikon did this on FX ... that's how I'd like to retire my D700 in 4 or 5 years time :)
